Dr. Brittany Sanders, DNP, ANP-C, GNP-C, is a native of Birmingham, AL.

She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama, Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama. Dr. Sanders is currently pursuing a Masters in Population Health from the University of Alabama.

She began her career as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department and Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Princeton Baptist Hospital. She has had an interest in HIV Prevention and STDs since she was a teenager with dreams of finding a cure for HIV. In 2011, Dr. Sanders began working at a local Health Department in the Sexual Health Clinic as a Nurse Practitioner, where she implemented PrEP and Hepatitis C testing and treatment programs. Dr. Sanders became a PrEP provider with an AIDS Service Organization (ASO) in 2019. She is a current member of NACCHO’s HIV, STI, and Viral Hepatitis work group and a 2017 Fellow for the Engagement of Primary Care Providers in HIV Prevention and Care Alabama AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC).
